Spring Wedding at Andaz Resort and Bungalows

There are weddings that stay with you—and then there are weddings that settle right into your heart. Photographing this beautiful celebration at Andaz Resort and Spa in Scottsdale was one of those rare moments where artistry, emotion, and history aligned so perfectly it felt like time paused for a little while.

From the sun-drenched desert setting to the deeply meaningful details woven throughout the day, this wedding was a dream in every way. But nothing captured my heart more than the bride’s veil—a 100-year-old heirloom that has been passed down through generations of women in her family.

The Setting: Modern Design Meets Desert Calm

Andaz Resort and Spa offers a unique blend of high-end modernism and laid-back desert beauty. The architecture is clean and intentional, with mid-century influences and a neutral palette that lets the surrounding landscape shine. Framed by towering palms and Camelback Mountain in the distance, the resort is a warm, organic canvas for any wedding day.

A Love Story with Legacy

The couple chose to keep their day centered on meaning and connection. Every detail had intention behind it, and the love Liz and Jonny shared was the highlight of the day. As she stepped into her gown, her mother gently buttoned the back of her dress, and they shared a quiet moment together before the special day got started.

There was quiet reverence in the room. Tears were shed. Hands were held. And through the lens, I witnessed the kind of moment that reminds me why I do this work: to preserve more than just what things looked like, but how they felt.

The First Look

Jonny stood waiting, back turned, breath held—as Liz approached with quiet steps. When he turned to see her, it felt like time slowed. His hand instinctively found hers, and before a word was spoken, he bent down to kiss her hand. And that’s when the tears started flowing.

Not from nerves, not from overwhelm—but from the sheer gravity of it all. There was something really special about that moment.

Ceremony with a View

The ceremony took place on the resort’s event lawn, with sweeping views of Camelback as their backdrop and warm desert light pouring over the scene. The couple stood together, hand in hand, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The veil danced in the breeze like it had a spirit of its own—graceful and weightless.

Celebrating with Intention

Their cocktail hour and reception dinner were held under the palm trees, with long tables draped in natural linens, flickering taper candles, and delicate floral arrangements in beautiful spring colors. The atmosphere was joyful, and the guests surrounded the bride and groom as they mingled while enjoying their signature cocktails!

Andaz Resort and Spa offers such a peaceful, luxurious atmosphere—one that gives couples space to be fully present. This wedding reminded me that what makes a wedding truly unforgettable isn’t just the details—it’s the depth. And on this day, that depth was wrapped delicately in 100-year-old lace, dancing in the desert breeze.
